Monserrat (a phono-archaeology)

Monserrat (a phono-archaeology) is a project developed between 2017-2020 that explores the recent sonic history of a Caribbean Island devastated by a volcanic eruption in 1995.

Monserrat (a phono-archaeology)-Ephemeral events

A key component of this project involves collaborating with DJs to create live sets that blend music recorded at the legendary AIR Studios Montserrat with acoustic experiments from the now-derelict studios, music from ash-covered vinyls recovered from local bars and the former Radio Antilles station, and human and natural sound recordings retrieved from reels unearthed from the ash.
